After nearly five years of young adult transitional services in the small town setting of Baker City, Oregon, Emerge has relocated the College Success Program to Boise, Idaho, just two hours from the original site. The dynamic and friendly City of Boise allows the opportunity for students to engage in the college experience at Boise State University while also tapping into the smaller urban area's offerings and outdoor recreation. Emerge is also looking forward to its collaboration with Simple Projects. Bradley Midget, MSW, will be leading individual and group sessions for students, as well as coordinating multi-day retreats. Additionally, Emerge students will have the opportunity to take advantage of the international programs of Simple Projects.
Students will be able to live on or off campus in Boise, utilize the college's meal plan, and work with Emerge staff to integrate into campus life both in terms of academics and making positive social connections. While Boise State is a larger university, Emerge staff will help students access all that there is to offer in such a setting. Smaller campuses are often attractive to students and families who have faced challenges, but with the support of Emerge as a transitional and college based support program students can have the best of both worlds. We look forward to building a dynamic experience for each student as they set their sights on a college degree! Emerge enrolls on a rolling basis with students able to begin participating in the program at any time, even mid-term, as we create a unique transitional experience with new opportunities for each participant.
